Alfred Conti Borda was born in 1943 and currently lives in Mosta.

From an early age he had developed an interest in gardening and the natural environment, thus studying for 2 years Practical farming in the UK and Malta (1968-70) and a year's study at the Harper Adams Agricultural College, U.K. (1970-71).

Conti Borda obtained a Teaching Certificate from St. Michael's Training College, Ta' Giorni (1971-72). He also received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Maltese and Italian with subsidiary subjects being Environmental Science and International Law of the Sea (1976-82) highlighting his distinguished career in education with a Diploma in Educational Administration and Management (1995-96) granting him the opportunity to become a head of school (1999-2004).

He will be remembered as a voluntary Guide at the Malta Aviation Museum and for his articles on the Natural Environment in the Pensioners' review and about the experiences of Maltese and British servicemen during World War I (Sunday Times).

He currently serves as Hon Secretary of the Retired Teachers' Section, MUT.
